Job 5:17 (NLT) 17 “But consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the discipline of the Almighty when you sin.

How many of us can take pleasure in the Lord’s correction of us? Not many. It is hard to accept that the God that blesses us is also the God that corrects us. When we realize that many of the hardships we face are often the result of our own sin we may actually learn something. I suspect that most of us will be like Job and reject this critique. But what if we just meditate on it for a moment? Will we Lear our lesson when we get a whoopin’ from God?

Lord help me to accept Your discipline. Cause me to be corrected so I don’t keep making the same mistakes.
