Psalms 36:7 How precious is your unfailing love, O God! All humanity finds shelter in the shadow of your wings.
The Tamir Rice decision was not surprising but none the less disappointing. As I am often discouraged by humanity and its failure to be human. I am reminded that God’s heart is one that desires us all, no matter how inhumane we may be, to be underneath Divine wings. I pray that policing changes drastically. I pray that compassion and deescalation become the order of the day. I pray we take our cue from God and desire changed hearts more than we do retribution. I pray for Tamir’s family and that they feel the very real presence of the wings of God surrounding them.
