Matthew 11:28-30

Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

Bearing burdens is exhausting. In the midst of trial and tribulation it is easy to get lost and discouraged. It seems like after we finish one trial another is on the way. As Fannie Lou Hamer said we get “sick and tired of being sick and tired. Here Jesus offers us rest for our souls. He gives us a means by which we can be renewed. First we must take on his burden in place of ours. Second we must become disciples. Sitting at the foot of Jesus will surely renew us and restore and rest our souls. 
Lord give me rest for my soul
Give me Your yoke and teach me how to carry it
