Job 16:21 (NLT) 21 I need someone to mediate between God and me, as a person mediates between friends.

Job requests mediation several times between him and God. There are times when we feel God hasn’t treated us fairly. We need someone to go to God on our behalf and also to speak to us on God’s behalf. We need someone who understands that we love each other but we are in disagreement. The role of pastor, priest, rabbi, and prophet have always been important for this very reason. 

Mediation is ultimately fulfilled in Christ. It is Christ that embodies both us and God and it is through Christ that we can make sense of it all. 
Lord mediate between The father and me as a person meditates between friends.
