In the same way, my friends, you have died to the law through the body of Christ, so that you may belong to another, to him who has been raised from the dead in order that we may bear fruit for God.
Paul here teaches that the many oppressive requirements, penalties, and practices are no longer valid to those who know Jesus. this new freedom Gives us an unbridled ability to bear fruit for God. I often tell Christians that we spend so much time on do's and don'ts that we miss the true responsibility of loving God and loving people. Once we move our own preconceived notions of right and wrong out of the way we make room to do the "Jesus thing." Love unconditionally. That is the greatest fruit we can bear.
Lord help me to let go of the burden of legalistic and judgmental religion. Help me to love people. Lord please set me free so that those who are seeking you can see you in me. Lord give me the fruit of love. Lord give Bethel the fruit of love. Let us love you and love people so deeply that we are "known for our love of one another." Let us truly sow Christ's love throughout the world! In Jesus Name!
